We transfer, copy and convert camcorder Digital8 video tapes to MPEG4 and ProRes digital files Editable File Formats.

The Digital8 video format was at it's most popular through the 1990's. It was introduced by Sony and showed a significant improvement in quality over the two other existing 8mm formats, Video8 and Hi8.

Digital8 Video was relatively short lived as users upgraded their systems to Mini DV and and eventually Hard Drive camcorders.

Digital8 video camcorders and Digital8 tape players are no longer made, meaning that many people have family memories on videotapes with no way of watching them.

Depending on how they are stored, Digital8 tapes have a life of around 5 to 20 years before they start degrading.

Left long enough, they will become unplayable leaving those precious family memories in danger of being lost forever.

PAL-NTSC Video Conversions

If you have Digital8 tapes in in NTSC format, they will need to converted to PAL format to play on UK television equipment.

Conversely, PAL (UK) recorded video will need be converted TO NTSC for use in countries such as Japan and USA. Please contact us to check the availability of this service.

Digital8 MPEG4 Files

Digital8 Computer Editable MPEG4 Files

Some of our customers require editable files from the Digital8 camcorder tapes for editing on a PC or MAC. We normally supply editable MPEG4 Files which can play on both systems. ProRes can be converted into any digital file format for use on any computer system or program

Editable file sizes can be very large so you may need to supply an external hard drive or large capacity USB stick - we can also supply USB sticks at cost.

Digital8 video transfer to MPEG4 and ProRes digital files costs from £18 per tape.

You can choose between MPEG4 files for convenient playback or ProRes files for editing for home computer editing.

If you give us 6 to 10 videos there is a huge discount - just £22 per tape.

If you give us 11 or more video tapes there is a massive discount - just £18 per tape.
